about ingrid

Ingrid has been practicing yoga for twenty years and teaching yoga for seniors, gentle hatha, vinyasa and restorative yoga since 2011. After experiencing and observing the many benefits of yoga, Ingrid began her mission to help more people access all that the practice and science of yoga has to offer. She enrolled in the pioneering Master of Science in Yoga Therapy, a 2-year program at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, and earned her M.Sc. in 2016. Ingrid also works as a program coordinator at the Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team (SAFHT). Her role has recently expanded to include yoga therapist, offering yoga to seniors in the community and to patients with Alzheimer's and their care partners.


As a yoga therapist, Ingrid works in partnership with you to develop a regular practice in line with your health goals, lifestyle, beliefs, values and preferences. Small, regular, meaningful steps are powerful and can lead to lasting positive change. Ingrid has a special interest in working with seniors and people with chronic and mental health conditions. Her intention is to create a safe space for anyone who is curious about yoga therapy and would like to discover their own potential for greater health and well-being. Ingrid generally works out of Transense Holistic Centre, which provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Ingrid volunteers at Sistering, which is a women's drop-in centre, as well as the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health. She is passionate about social justice and love travel, cycling, animals and the performing arts. Once upon a time, Ingrid was an actor, and she is grateful that that her acting training led her to exploring the mind-body connection and yoga.
